Do You Think I Should Practice What I Preach?

Recently I went through several days of extreme sickness. I literally did not have enough strength to hold my head up and had to lie down for five days straight. I actually felt worn out just from lying down existing. Turns out I had a severe sinus infection or possibly bronchitis.

I am feeling much better now, but I’ve got to tell you, that was hard.

I have had to really practice what I preach lately. There is just something about not feeling well physically that tears away at your emotions.

I am getting better, but I have had to choose to put my focus on positive hopeful things more than I normally do.

Philippians 4:4-9

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

I want to encourage you to join me in picking what to think about.

Let’s harness our thoughts starting right now so that we can live in peace today!
